Fees & rebates
You will always see the full cost before you confirm a booking. Nothing is charged without you agreeing to it first.
Draft site — the fees below are placeholders. Replace every amount on this page with the practice's own fee schedule and confirm the current Medicare rebate amounts before publishing. Then delete this notice from pricing.html.
You pay the fee, Medicare pays you back
We charge the fee at the time of your appointment and lodge your Medicare claim for you on the spot. The rebate is paid into the bank account Medicare has on file for you — usually the same day, sometimes the next business day.
The gap is the part you are left out of pocket after the rebate. That is the figure in the third column below.
- Make sure your bank details are registered with Medicare, or the rebate will not reach you
- Telehealth rebates generally require an existing relationship with the practice — see the eligibility note below
- Children under 16 need to be linked to a parent or guardian's Medicare card
One private fee, quoted upfront
You are charged the private fee shown in the last column. There is no rebate, no additional charge, and no membership or subscription.
- Open to visitors, international students, temporary visa holders and anyone without a valid card
- Paid by card at the time of booking
- An itemised tax receipt is emailed to you, suitable for claiming against overseas visitor or student health cover
- Some visitors from countries with a reciprocal health care agreement may be eligible for Medicare — tell us at booking and we will check

All fees include GST where it applies. Travel health advice and some certificates are not covered by Medicare, so the private fee applies regardless of whether you hold a card.
Concessions
Holders of a Pension Concession Card, Health Care Card, DVA card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card have a reduced gap on all rebatable appointments. Children under 16 are bulk billed. Present your card number at booking.
Financial hardship
If cost is the reason you would not book, tell us. We would rather see you than have you go without care. Call the practice and ask about hardship arrangements — the conversation is confidential and it will not be recorded in your clinical notes.
How to pay
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay, taken securely at the time of booking through our booking provider. We never take card details over the phone or by email.
The fine print, in plain English
Things worth knowing before you book
Am I eligible for a Medicare telehealth rebate?
For most GP telehealth appointments, Medicare requires that you have an existing clinical relationship with the practice — generally meaning you have had a face-to-face appointment with us in the previous 12 months.
There are exemptions, including for children under 12 months old, people experiencing homelessness, people living in residential aged care, and patients in some rural and remote areas. Certain services also sit outside the rule.
If you are not eligible for a rebate, you can still book — the private fee applies. We will tell you which applies to you before you confirm, not afterwards.
What if the doctor cannot help me?
Sometimes a doctor will decide that your problem needs a face-to-face examination, or that what you have asked for is not clinically appropriate. That is a legitimate clinical outcome and the consultation still took place, so a fee generally applies.
The exception: if we could have told you before your appointment that we were not able to help — for example, you booked for something we clearly state we do not do — we will refund you in full. If you think that applies, contact us and we will look at it.
What happens if I miss my appointment?
Your doctor will attempt to call you twice at the booked time. If we cannot reach you, the appointment is recorded as a non-attendance and a fee of $30.00 applies.
You can reschedule or cancel free of charge up to two hours before your appointment through the link in your confirmation SMS. Things happen — if you missed an appointment for a good reason, tell us and we will usually waive it.
Is there a subscription or membership fee?
No. You pay per appointment. There is no membership, no joining fee, and no charge for sending you your script, certificate or referral afterwards.
Do medicines cost extra?
Yes, and that cost is separate from our fee. Medicines are paid for at the pharmacy, and prices depend on whether the medicine is subsidised under the PBS and whether you hold a concession card. Some treatments are not subsidised at all and can be expensive.
Can I claim this on private health insurance?
Private health insurance does not cover GP appointments in Australia. Overseas Visitor Health Cover and Overseas Student Health Cover often do — submit the itemised receipt we email you to your insurer.
